Local veterans run to commemorate 9/11

Medford, Ore. — A group of veterans and one student met at the Medford Armory at 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning to go on a five mile run to commemorate the 13th anniversary of 9/11 with the American flag in hand.

Richard Oxford is a 10 year Army veteran and organized the event. He says the run was in tribute to fallen heroes and first responders throughout the nation, as well as those who respond to threats around the world.

And the Eagle Point student who’s sent 35-hundred care packages to troops overseas over the last five years ran with the veterans. Bryce Thornton and Oxford had worked together on making those care packages.
