Medford chiropractor accused of sex abuse in court

Medford, Ore. — A Medford chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting four patients made his first court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Scott Cooper wasn’t indicted on the charges, so he couldn’t enter a plea. Instead, his attorney issued a denial to the court.

The District Attorney’s office proposed a higher bail. Cooper’s attorney countered, saying the amount of $500,000 was too high for an incident that happened in a work place.

Judge Lisa Greif disagreed.

“I think that’s what makes it worse, frankly, if the allegations are true, it’s an abuse of his position, if nothing else, I read the probable cause affidavit, and its pretty disturbing,” Judge Greif said. “With multiple victims, with potentially more victims out there.

Cooper’s bail was increased. In addition, Judge Greif ordered him to not contact the victims of the case.
He’s also been banned from accessing any patient files.
