Medford Fire Chief Bierwiler Fired

It was called a very sudden departure, but according to new public records obtained by the Mail Tribune, former Medford Fire Chief Dave Bierwiler was fired.

Bierwiler left the station in March.

At the time, we were told he was leaving because of personal reasons.

According to his termination agreement, the city fired him.

NBC-5’s Christine Pitawanich spoke with Deputy City Manager for Medford Bill Hoke after Bierwiler’s departure, this is what he had to say.

“<Do you have any indicator as to why he chose to leave his post> That is not something i would know or comment on.”

We tried to contact for Beirwiler for comment today, but were unsuccessful.

He however did tell the Mail Tribune that he could not be truthful in March because he signed a confidentiality agreement.
