Rafting Companies Return to the Rogue River

It’s back to business for rafting companies, this is the first weekend for rafting tours since smoke from nearby wildfires shut down the Rogue River.

Joey Loop, the owner of Alternative Whitewater Adventures in Grants Pass says even though they lost money for nearly two weeks, the ball is now rolling and customers are more eager to venture out.

“We didnt stop having faith, took the hit as it was and told people we’d let them know on our Facebook page, and offering lower prices helped too.”

Loop says should smokey weather shut down the river again, he’ll be renting out winter activity gear that will help reimburse the loss of rafting sales.
