Medford, Ore. –A mom is in jail after leaving her child alone to go to the bars.
Medford Police say Justine Gonzalez left her seven-year-old daughter home alone at their apartment on Crater Lake Avenue around 10:30 Sunday night to go out with friends.
But when she came home at two a.m. the girl was gone. Gonzalez frantically called police who spent two hours searching for the girl before finding her with a relative.
We were all thinking the worst and we were treating it like it was going to be the worst and we’re lucky this had somewhat of a happy ending, said Medford Police Lieutenant, Mike Budreau
Gonzalez is facing child neglect charges. Department of Human Services Child Welfare are investigating alongside Medford Police.
