Medford Teacher Cited For Furnishing Alcohol

37-year-old Shelli Adams-Campos is on paid administrative leave from Howard Elementary School after Medford police cited her for furnishing alcohol to a minor.

According to police, on January 20th Adams-Campos knew minors were consuming alcohol on her premisis. It wasn’t until ten days after the incident that a teen reported Adams-Campos to police.

Police have spoken with several teens who were at the Adams-Campos home the night of the incident. After investigating the case police cited Adams-Campos with a class A misdemeanor on January 30th.

Dr. Todd Bloomquist, Director of Human Resources with the Medford School District said, “She has worked for us for eleven years, and she was great in the classroom. We will wait to see what Medford police decide and we will make a decision from there.”

He also said that these types of incidents are taken very seriously and dealt with on a case by case basis. Right now Adams-Campos is on paid administrative leave from Howard Elementary School while a substitute teacher is filling in for her class.

Neighbors who knew Adams-Campos are shocked by the allegations.

“She is a wonderful neighbor. She is very quiet. We have never had any problems with her what-so-ever,” said Glena Stewart

“I’ve never seen them have any parties over there. The kids all seem to be very well behaved, not out of control at all,” said Gerald Stewart.

The case will now be prosecuted by the Jackson County District Attorney.
