Memorial surrounds fatal Ashland crash site

Ashland, Ore. — A memorial has sprouted up at the site of Wednesday night’s fatal car accident in Ashland.

Flowers and candles now sit at the intersection of Siskiyou Boulevard and Ashland Street where Sal Pippa’s car collided with a power pole. Pippa died at the scene.

His niece, Keiyana Parker, spoke to NBC5 about her beloved uncle “He was such a goofball. Always positive and happy. Just a great guy to be around. He will definitely be missed.”

Police say Pippa took the turn from Siskiyou Boulevard onto Ashland Street too fast.

His passenger, Christine Keuhu, is at Rogue Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
