Meyer In Court; Family Wants Justice For Closure

Noticebly thinner, Jon Andrew Meyer Junior only appeared in court for a short time monday afternoon.

Also in the courtroom, family members of 5 year old Alysa Bobbit who was shot and killed in June.

“Every month it gets harder and harder, more emotional. You feel like you don’t have any closure,” said Tressa Turner, Bobbit’s grandmother.

She says the loss has been a struggle for the family, especially as the holidays approach.

The family has been working to change gun laws, so a similar situation won’t happen to anyone else. But that has been more of a struggle they had originally thought.

“They used to say it takes a community to raise a child and we need the community to help more.”

For now though the family will have to painfully wait for the closure to this story. Meyer will not appear back in court until November 25.
