Today marks the last day to sign up through the Affordable Care Act –if you plan on receiving health insurance coverage by January 1st. Those who want their coverage to start New Year’s Day will also have to pay their first month’s premium by December 31st.
If you don’t mind having an insurance plan start after January 1st, you can enroll anytime until March 31st.That’s when open enrollment ends and penalties for the uninsured kick in.
If you don’t sign up before then, you’ll have to wait until next November.
