More charges for former Medford Youth Pastor

Medford, OR — The former youth pastor accused of secretly video taping women and teenage girls at his home is facing additional charges and police are working to identify more victims.

Medford police say they’ve just scratched the surface, and with 28 videos in their possession, the number of victims may continue to grow as the evidence against former youth pastor Donald Biggs piles up.

“He took advantage of that trust and did very bad things, and that’s why he’s in jail,” said Lt. Mike Budreau.

Medford police say inappropriate text messages between a former youth pastor and a 14-year-old girl led them to the shocking discovery.

“We discovered that he was recording females without their knowledge inside of his home,” said Budreau

Lt. Budreau says when they searched 36 year old Donald Biggs’ Jacksonville home they discovered hard drives containing video shot from a hidden camera in Biggs’ bathroom.

“The first thing they looked at contained a lot of video of juvenile females,” said Budreau.

Detectives are working to identify and notify victims seen on Biggs’ hidden camera, which includes girls between 13 and 15 years old and two women ages 19 and 21.

“There’s a lot more data to look at and unfortunately we think it’s going to contain more of the same,” said Budreau.

As the investigation continues, police worry more victims may be out there. If you have any information on the case contact Medford Police.

In addition to the original charges of Invasion of Privacy and Burglary, Biggs faces multiple counts of ‘Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct’ and ‘Encouraging Child Sex Abuse’. His bail is set at over $6 Million.
