Motion Picture Company Files Lawsuit; Targets Southern Oregon Residents

A motion picture company has filed a lawsuit and is suing 34 southern Oregon residents for illegally downloading and pirating movies off the internet. Voltage pictures claims the unnamed defendants copied and distributed the 2012 film “Maximum Conviction.” The company is seeking 30,000 dollars in copyright infringement from each of the defendants and an additional 150,000 dollars in statutory damages. The company was able to find the defendants based on thier internet protocol, or IP addresses, and are asking internet providers to release their names.
