Mt. Ashland opens on Sunday

Mt. AshlandAshland, Ore. — Skiers and snowboarders rejoice! Mt. Ashland is set to open.

The ski area will open Sunday after four inches fell on the mountain overnight and has seen 31 inches the past week.

Full day lift tickets start at $46 dollars for adults and $36 for youth on weekends.

“They’re looking at 11 to 14 inches overnight and more snow coming on sunday and a little bit more on Monday so it looks like we’re in the ski business,” said General Manager Hiram Towle.

Towle says crews were aiming for a Saturday opening but conditions weren’t quite right.

Saturday’s storm is expected to bring the snowfall needed to open.
