Ashland, Ore. — The estate of an Ashland woman who died after her murphy bed collapsed is suing the the bed’s manufacturer.
The lawsuit says 76-year-old Penelope Martens was asleep in the bed back in April when the frame pulled away from the wall and struck her in the head. The frame locked, trapping Martens and killing her.
The estate is seeking $850,000 from the bed’s manufacturer and the store that installed the bed.
