New information released in Dallas, OR officer involved shooting

Dallas, Ore. — New information has been released, detailing the moments leading up to an officer-involved shooting that happened in Northern Oregon Friday night.

Oregon State Police say Dallas police officers were attempting to arrest Jeremiah Anderson on DUII charges at the Walmart. Authorities said that’s when Anderson pulled out a gun, and fired two shots at the officers.

Sergeant Rob Hatchell was struck in the leg. OSP said the officers fired back, killing Anderson. Sgt. Hatchell was treated at the hospital and released, he’s expected to recover.

Hatchell and two other officers are now on  administrative leave, as the investigation continues.
