New information released in Mt. Shasta High School sexual exploitation case

Siskiyou Co., Calif. — New information has been released in a sexual exploitation case involving mount Shasta High School students.

Siskiyou County Sheriff Jon Lopey confirmed some students involved in the investigation are part of the Mount Shasta High School football team. The students are potential victims in the case.

Investigators have interviewed a person of interest, and the case is set to go to the grand jury within the next few days.

“In this sexual exploitation case, we have some victims and witnesses that are not adults, they’re underage, so we certainly concur with the district attorney’s choice to go with the grand jury in this case,” Lopey said.

A search warrant has already been served at a person of interest’s house. Their identity is not being released at this time.
