Obama says he’ll go it alone on immigration

(NBC News) President Obama vowed Monday to use executive actions to address illegal immigration and the ongoing humanitarian crisis developing along the U.S. border.

Mr. Obama said obstructionism by House Republicans has killed the chances for an immigration reform bill this year.

In remarks in the White House Rose Garden, President Obama blasted the inaction, saying uncertainty over a broken immigration law is hurting America’s security and economy.

A recent surge of undocumented children, mostly from Central America, at the southwest border has become a crisis, adding urgency to the issue.
