Olene standoff over, suspect in-custody

Update (10:55pm): The suspect was apprehended a few minutes ago. No injuries reported. More details to come.

Olene, Ore. — A standoff is underway in Olene, about 9 miles east of Klamath Falls.

The pursuit began before noon in the Swan Lake area, in relation to a burglary of a home Thursday morning in which multiple fire arms were stolen.

The suspect’s vehicle was pursued by both Klamath County Sheriffs Deputies and Oregon State Police Troopers.

The suspect’s vehicle reportedly left Highway 140 and the suspect fled on foot.

The Herald and News reported on their Facebook page earlier that Highway 140 in the area had been closed, but reopened around 4:30pm Thursday.

There are approximately 20 law enforcement vehicles at the scene, where the suspect is cornered in a mobile home.

Multiple armored SWAT vehicles arrived on the scene around 7pm Thursday.

NBC 2’s Lyle Ahrens is reporting that multiple SWAT teams are heading to the scene.
