Police in Portland find 27 lbs of meth hidden in truck

Portland, Ore. –Portland Police found more than $1.3 million worth of drugs hidden in a pick-up truck.

Police say their K-9, Nikko, detected the drugs inside a large toolbox in the bed of the pick-up on Monday after officers stopped the truck for a traffic violation.

Officers found a hidden compartment in the toolbox containing approximately 27 pounds of meth and two pounds of heroin.

Police arrested 29-year-old Juan Hernandez-Sanchez and 36-year-old Jorge Luis Canela-Perez for distribution and possession of meth and heroin.

One of the suspect’s 9-year-old daughter was also in the truck and she was placed into protective custody.
