Portland man arrested after freeing police animals

Portland, Ore. — A Portland, Oregon man was arrested late Monday, accused of breaking into a police horse-barn and freeing some of the animals.

Neighbors and residents helped catch the horses after they were spotted wandering on nearby train tracks.

“This is obviously an extremely unusual circumstance, it’s not every day that someone breaks into a police horse barn and lets horses out, so I think it’s probably a first for us to have to deal with,” said Portland Police Bureau Sergeant, Pete Simpson.

Police extended their thanks for the assistance.
