Shooting At Clackamas Town Center Near Portland

The gunman who opened fire at an Oregon shopping mall is no longer a threat.

That comes from investigators, who won’t elaborate on the status of the man who witnesses say fired a rifle repeatedly inside the Clackamas Town Center near Portland.

Lt. James Rhodes with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said “That incident is no longer active and we believe that the shooter that was involved has been neutralized. We know of several groups of employees that have, um, locked themselves in break rooms and bathrooms, and one at a time, very carefully, we’re addressing each of those groups. (:10) And so we have several teams of law enforcement working through the mall, finding and gathering up those groups and escorting them out.”

Investigators believe at least one person is dead, and say there may be more victims.

They are also searching for any other shooters, saying they believe the gunman acted alone but they have to make sure.
