Super Bowl Food Prices Climb

If you’re shopping and preparing for your super bowl sunday party — it looks like you’ll be paying more money at the register this year.

That’s because, according to the National Retail Federation, Americans will spend about 8% more than they did last year.

Even with food costs up from years past, grocery store employees say people are still buying. They say, “Super bowl Saturday as we call it, it’s either the busiest or second busiest day of the year, Easter rivals it every once in a while…people are still finding money for food.”

Beef costs 60-percent more than it did four years ago. Chicken wings are up 39-percent and beer prices are up as well.
