‘The Pint Rider’ offers downtown Medford pub tours

Medford, Ore. — Combining hard work with hops –It’s a bar on a bike, and it’s offering tours here in the Rogue Valley, just in time for summer! On Sunday, our cameras climbed aboard the Pint Rider for a quick run around the block, but the cycle is already offering tours through the city.

“they’re real popular in the bend area, where people like to ride bikes, and drink craft beers, and so Pint Rider came to Medford about two weeks ago,” Ussary said.

Mike Ussary is an Captain of the cycle, who steers the pint rider to each location. The bike holds 10 to 15 people, and has pedals for each person.

“Ten people at a time will pedal, and we pedal from pub to pub.”

Beginning and ending at the Quality Market on Jackson, the Pint Rider only has one dedicated stop.

“We go to Rogue Growler, which is at Siskiyou and Highland, and then we go down Siskiyou boulevard to downtown, and it’s up to the group where the want to stop.”

Alcohol isn’t allowed on the bike, but can be consumed at each of the two of three stops the group chooses to make.

“We get back on the pint rider, and peddle to the next pub, and so it’s human powered.”

A tour for 8 to 15 people is $300 for two and a half hours. Smaller groups are also available for a lesser price. For more information, including how to book a tour, click here.
