Thousands celebrate Fourth of July

Central Point, Ore. — Thousands of Rogue Valley residents celebrated the Fourth of July at Central Point’s Red White and Boom Festival.

Firework organizers say it is the biggest fireworks show in the entire state.

But hours before the fireworks began, thousands gathered at the Jackson County Expo, setting up camp and claiming theirterritory.

“We came out early so we wouldn’t have to beat the rush and stand in the back of the line pretty much and it’s a good spot,” said Angela Hawkins.

While the crowds don’t start to typically come until later in the night, organizers say this year they saw more people come early.

Southern Oregon’s own the Seaons kicked off the night with the music. Country stars Keith Anderson and Brian McComas also performed.

But the highlight of course was the fireworks and no one was more excited than 8 year old Angelo.

“I like the fireworks because I like every single thing because they just like, when they just like go up and they just like go up, they fly up, like everywhere, and it like glows up.”
