Traffic Accidents Close Major Roadways Friday Morning

Police are investigating a car crash near Ashland that shut down Highway 99 for over an hour Friday morning.

Officials say around 2 AM, police began a pursuit with the car. Reports say the suspect then crashed into a guard rail, and rolled the car across the highway.

That suspect has been taken to a nearby hospital. The suspect’s condition is not known at this time.

Highway 99 has since been reopen.

The investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, another crash on I-5 closed one lane of northbound traffic, just south of Grants Pass.

Officials responded to the call around 1 AM Friday morning.

Police say the driver was traveling southbound on the Interstate, when they drove up the embankment, and over the guard rail, onto the northbound lanes.

Traffic was slowed down for about an hour. A few minor injuries were sustained in the crash. The investigation into what caused the crash will continue Friday morning.

And another I-5 traffic alert has one lane closed from 7 PM to 7 AM. Re-paving is taking place near exit 30 in Medford. Both north and southbound lanes are affected.

This project will continue until mid-June.
