NBC 5 spoke with Tricia MacCallum, Chris MacCallum’s wife about a week after her husband’s body was found. She did not want to speak on camera, but according to Tricia, she, Chris and her sister had gone camping. It became too cold and so she and her sister left. Tricia MacCallum says the next morning, when she came to pick him up, Chris was gone. This is what she had to say about her husband.
“If I would have stayed, I wonder if my children would be orphans today, so I’m glad I came home too. I just wish he would have come with me. I’m still having trouble with the reality of it,” said Tricia.
She told NBC 5 she let Chris keep her gun before she left the campsite in case he had to defend himself from wild animals. Tricia MacCallum’s parents maintain she’s innocent. Stay with NBC 5 News for continuing coverage.
