Wildfire stats Wednesday, August 19th

(Update 8/19) Medford, Ore. — Wildfires are continuing to grow throughout the region. Below you will find the most up to date information on the fires. Numbers and information will change through the day as more accurate numbers are reported to the media.

Stouts Fire

Location: Near Milo, Douglas County

Acreage: 25,076

Containment: 74%

Notes: Burnout operations continue. Fire costs have exceeded $30 million.

Collier Butte Fire

Location: In the Kalmiopsis Wilderness, about 18 miles east of Gold Beach

Acreage: 8,000

Containment: 25%

Notes: Burnout operations will begin once weather changes. Everything is dependent on weather conditions.

Gasquet Complex

Location: Six Rivers National Forest about 12 miles ESE of Gasquet, CA.

Acreage: 6,426

Containment: 20%

Notes: Smoky conditions continue impacting local communities.

National Creek Complex

Location: Northwest corner of Crater Lake National Park

Acreage: 6,228

Containment: 10 %

Notes: Hwy 230 remains closed to traffic. There is no timeline when it will reopen. Find alternate route. Crater Lake National Park remains open.National Park Officials ask visitors to park in designated parking areas only to view the fire or firefighting activities. The north entrance to the park is closed as firefighters conduct fire suppression efforts over the next few days.

Cornet/Windy RidgeFire

Location: 16 miles south of Baker City, Eastern Oregon

Acreage: 103,540

Containment: 45%

Notes: Lightning caused. Cornet and Windy Ridge fire merged.

County Line 2 Fire

Location: Warm Springs, Ore.

Acreage: 62,696

Containment: 43%

Notes: Evacuations remain in effect. Mop up operations continue. Additional growth expected on west side.

River Complex Fire

Location: Near Willow Creek, CA. between Eureka & Redding on Hwy 299

Acreage: 45,477

Containment: 20%

Notes:Fire operations continued to be hampered by thick smoke over the fire area.
