Woman fights would-be purse snatcher

(WLWT) A woman in Cincinnati, Ohio had just finished loading her groceries into her car when she was attacked by a man trying to steal her purse.

She didn’t give in, she fought back and it was all caught on camera.

“I couldn’t believe it was happening, but there was no way I was gonna let him win. I was bound and determined that he was not going to win,” said the woman who doesn’t want to be identified.

She had just finished a Saturday afternoon grocery shop at this Kroger in Spring Grove Village- when she found herself in an all-out tug of war…with a would be purse thief.

“He had one part of the bag, and I had the other part of the bag, and I was just, you know, I didn’t want him to get that bag because if he got that bag, it would only empower him to get, you know, the bag, anyone else’s. You know, just fuel him to be more successful to steal other people’s bags,” she said.

“At that point it just hit me that I should kick him right in the chest, so I just kicked him as hard as I could in the chest, and that threw him off of me.”

She left with a sore neck and cuts on her hands. But she says- more importantly- he left without her purse.

“Not everybody’s gonna be a victim, and people will fight back. You can’t just get away with stealing people’s purses and trying to beat people up.”

The woman says Kroger has since upped their security and added an extra guard.
