Women’s Leadership Conference draws hundreds

Medford, Ore. — Hundreds of women came together in Medford on Friday to encourage and empower one another.

300 women attended the third annual Women’s Leadership Conference held at the Rogue Valley Country Club.

The theme this year was “I am leader, this is my story.”

“We’re hearing from other leaders, other women who have stepped up and their stories inspire us but they also teach us lessons,” said Katie Shepard, the emcee for the event.

“When we have a dream… always always stay focused, go back when we get knocked down, then we can accomplish it,” said Susan Ershler, the keynote speaker.

The event encourages women to take on leadership roles.

Meantime, the wage gap still exists with women make 78 cents to a man’s dollar.

Keynote speaker Susan Ershler, who has climbed the seven summits, the highest mountain on each continent, said successful women project their future, prepare for it, and persevere.
