Yosemite National Park fire caused by sparks

Calif. — Officials say sparks from a vehicle caused the fire that broke out in Yosemite National Park earlier this week.

Investigators have not determined what kind of vehicle the sparks may have come from, but officials say because of the extremely dry conditions the fire could have started as a result of something as small as trailer safety chains dragging on the highway or brake parts generating a spark.

So far the fire has charred 245 acres and as of yesterday was only 10% contained.
