Lone Fire in Modoc County 0% contained

MODOC NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. – A new wildfire burning in a remote part of Northern California quickly grew to over 2,500 since it first started Thursday.

While 17 fires were reported in the Modoc National Forest, the largest is the Lone Fire burning in grass and juniper near Pinnacle Lake, about 45 miles southeast of Klamath Falls.

The fire was first reported at 4:15 p.m. and quickly grew to an estimated 2,592 acres by Friday morning. It was 0% contained.
