Man apologizes in court for beating man to death

0811 AtwoodMedford, Ore. — A man who’s been arrested nearly 70 times since 2011, is heading to prison for more than 6 years.

Michael Atwood was arrested last august in connection with the Greenway beating death of Rickey Lemich.

In court Thursday afternoon, Atwood pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter and apologized for what he’d done. “The hard part of this whole thing is not admitting and taking responsibility, but living with my actions that caused his death – a complete loss of control which is unacceptable,” said Atwood.
