Man indicted in transient death in Central Point

Central Point, Ore. –The man suspected of killing a transient in Central Point was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday afternoon.

The two-count indictment of Michael Joseph Atwood includes a count of murder and a count of manslaughter in the first degree.

Atwood is being held without bail at the Jackson County Jail. Atwood is suspected of killing 51-year-old Rickey Michael Lemich.

Lemich was found dead on the Bear Creek Greenway by the Pilot gas station on August 5th. Few details have been released on the exact cause of death.
