Man faces 100+ mph winds on New Hampshire mountain

Mount Washington, N.H. – Weather observers at the Mount Washington Observatory in New Hampshire shared amazing video of a man nearly blowing away in 109 mph winds.

The video was recorded by weather observers Mike Dorfman and Tom Padham to illustrate the effects of strong winds on the mountain.

In a post on the Mount Washington Observatory website, Dorfman wrote, “Wind on the summit is an experience that you can’t just describe to understand. It makes you fully appreciate that air is in fact a fluid and not empty space.”

Dorfman also reminded readers that it would be impossible to face down winds of that speed anywhere else, as you’d be risking your life due to flying debris and shrapnel.
