Man found dead in South Umpqua River

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Investigators are working to identify a body found in the South Umpqua River.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the body was discovered by a fisherman on the evening of May 9 near Templin Beach Park in Roseburg.

While the sheriff’s office said the remains were that of a man, they released no further details, other than to say the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office is trying to determine the man’s identity
