It’s called The Gloops and the Special Plant. Written and illustrated by J.R. Fox who said she wrote it to make children aware of cannabis and it’s acceptance. Now that recreation marijuana will legally be sold at medical marijuana dispensaries.

Fox said, “It was really inspired by seeing the changes going on with legalization across the country. There needs to be an upfront way of dealing with questions.”

The book is based on the main character, Molly Gloop and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gloop. in the book Fox answers questions that children may have regarding the book and she does it without using the word “canabis.”

“If you read the story to them it doesn’t talk about cannabis necessarily but sets them up to understand the concepts.”

Fox said she had been thinking about writing the book for a year. And said she’s having a hard time finding a publisher because marijuana is federally illegal. The book can be purchased on Amazon.com.

Fox said she plans to write a second children’s book about safety when dealing with marijuana.
