Mental health budget set to increase in Jackson Co.

0610 Mental HealthJackson County, Ore. — Mental health in Jackson County is getting a boost in the newly approved budget.

According to the Board of Commissioners Office, the board unanimously approved the numbers on Wednesday.

The Department of Health and Human Services will be working with $68.4 million dollars an increase of $5.4 million dollars from last year.

A majority of that money will go toward mental health care. This year, the entire county will see an increase of $11 million, for a budget of $339.4 million.

The new budget cycle begins on July 1st.
