Mom charged with killing 3-year-old son in 1986

BOCA RATON, Fla. (KSNV) A Florida woman has been charged with killing her son more than 30 years after the 3-year-old boy was reported missing.

Police arrested Amy Fleming, 60, at her job in Boca Raton on January 29.

She moved to Florida, shortly after telling police that her son, Francillon Pierre, disappeared from a Las Vegas swap meet back in 1986.

Fleming and her boyfriend, Lee Luster, had been accused of physically abusing the boy just months before his disappearance, but investigators couldn’t find enough evidence to seek a murder charge.

That was until 2017, when additional witnesses came forward and someone tried to steal Francillion’s identity. The new developments prompted police to take another look at the case, specifically, letters that Fleming wrote to Luster while the two were in jail for obstructing the investigation.

Part of the text from Fleming reads, “I cannot face my friends for fear they will be implicated.” In another letter, she wrote, “What happened was totally unintentional. I’m sorry about that.”
