Motor voter registration errors

Medford, Ore., — Some Oregonians may miss out on decision 2016, due to DMV motor voter registration errors.

The Secretary of State implemented the motor voter registration program, but new residents had to apply by a certain date to be eligible to vote.

Now the Jackson County Clerk is doing her best to work with voters who are experiencing problems.

“We can look up in the system what happened, we can get ahold of the Secretary of State and if at all possible if there’s any way we can, we will issue them a provisional ballot, if the situation warrants that.” said Election Clerk Chris Walker.

Provisional ballots are reviewed on a case by case basis and are not guaranteed for all voters.

Residents can try and get provisional ballots at the elections office in Medford until Tuesday night at 8 pm.
