Orlando, Fla. (NBC News) — The current wife of Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen has told the FBI that she drove him to the nightclub on a prior occasion and that she tried to talk him out of conducting any kind of attack.

She also told the FBI she was with him when he bought ammunition and a holster, several officials familiar with the case said.

Overnight police identified the 49th and final victim, and on Tuesday hospital officicals gave an update on those wounded. Six remain in critical condition.

From his hospital bed, survivor Tony Morrero said Mateen tried blending in with the crowd.

“The guy was making it seem like he was a victim also,” Morrero said.
