Phoenix fires City Manager

steve dahlPhoenix, Ore. — The Phoenix City Manager is out of a job tonight. Mayor Jeff Bellah confirming to NBC5 News that the city has ended it’s contract with Steve Dahl.

In a 4 to 1 vote, the City Council voted to terminate it’s contract with Dahl effective immediately.

Dahl was hired by the city in 2013.

In a statement provided to NBC5 News, Mayor Bellah says the city has different needs than they did when Dahl was hired 3 year ago, when business development groundwork was an overriding need.

He continued saying Phoenix is ready to move to a more traditional administrative focus.
