Ashland, Ore. — A public memorial service will be held this Saturday for Oregon State Senator Alan Bates.
It’s scheduled for 1:30 in the Rogue River Room inside SOU’s Stevenson Union.
Senator Bates died August 5th while fishing with his son in Douglas County. He was 71 years old.
Meanwhile, Senator Bates’ family is now accepting donations for the Dr. Alan Bates Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Donations are being accepted at all Rogue Federal Credit Union locations.
