Bringing Lightsabers To Life

NC_lightsabers1021_700x394Oregon City, Ore.– (KGW) Star Wars fans are in a frenzy after the release of the new trailer for the next installment of the franchise.

The 30 workers at Oregon City, Oregon’s SabreForge already have their tickets for “The Force Awakens”.

You could say it hits a little close to home for them.

After all, SaberForge is one of only three or four companies in the world that make real lightsabers, just like Luke Skywalker had.

SaberForge started in 2008 by a couple guys in a garage. Founder and owner Phillip Isherwood lost his job at a California public utility during the recession, moved to Oregon and started playing around with his saber passion.

Cut to 2015, he has 30 employees, going on 60 by the end of the year; with over $1 million in annual sales.
