Landslide shelter to close soon

640x360_50817B00-SCHTKOregon City, Ore. — People in Oregon City staying at a Red Cross emergency shelter will have to find somewhere else to stay soon.

The shelter is set to close Monday since it’s being held in a high school gym and school is starting back up. 52 families were told last week they had to leave their apartments in Oregon City because of landslide danger.

19 people have been using the shelter at the gym. Crews say they won’t be able to stabilize the hill until the spring.

The county is trying to help relocate displaced families. A fund has been set up to assist with finances.
