Calif. — A man is dead after being run over by a semi-truck on Interstate-5 early Thursday morning north of Weed.
California Highway Patrol says a truck driver had pulled to the shoulder of I-5 to rest in Siskiyou County.
The driver told police a pedestrian, identified as 44-year-old Kyler Lamont of Redding, entered the cab of the truck before being told to leave.
Police say the pedestrian then walked into the traffic lanes and kneeled down in a lane where he was immediately struck by a different semi-truck.
Police say Lamont died instantly.
