Medford, Ore.- SoHumane saved the lives of 22 dogs Friday night. The dogs came to the shelter from central California.

The shipment of dogs was part of the Saving Train program, in which SoHumane assists shelters that have to euthanize when they get overcrowded. The organization works with several shelters in California to help bring their euthanasia rates down and save as many dogs as possible.

“The dogs arriving on our Saving Train are really given a second chance at a life with a forever family,” said Jessica, an intake worker at SoHumane.

The 22 dogs that arrived Friday will be available for adoption next week. You can check SoHumane’s website for updates.
