1003-gold-hill-waterUpdate (10-04-16, 10:05 a.m.) — The City of Gold Hill says they’re unable to determine how many residents are affected, so they’re advising ALL public users to boil their water.

Gold Hill, Ore. – The City of Gold Hill is notifying some residents that a drop in water pressure in the city’s distribution system may have allowed harmful bacteria into the water supply.

The city said if the bacteria are present, they could make you sick. Officials are particularly concerned for people with a weakened immune system.

Mayor Jan Fish said if customers received a written notice from the city, then that means they’re in the small area affected by the possible contamination.

If you are in the affected area, the city recommends boiling the tap water for one full minute.

The city said tests will be conducted to determine if the system was contaminated. Results are expected within 72 hours.
