Suspect identified in officer assault

Ashland, Ore. – Police have identified a suspect who allegedly assaulted an Ashland Police officer last Friday night.

Ashland Police said 40-year-old David Jon Dickerson, also known as Auram, fought with an officer after he was confronted in Lithia Park. Police said that Dickerson refused to identify himself and tried to leave. The officer tried to stop him, but Dickerson fought back and punched the officer in the face.

According to Ashland Police, the officer dropped his flashlight during the scuffle. Dickerson picked it up and charged the officer. He was tased, but broke free from the taser prongs and escaped.

Dickerson is believed to be traveling in Jackson County or Josephine County in a bus similar to the one in a photograph provided by Ashland Police.

Police described Dickerson as a 6-foot tall white male, between 190 and 200 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.
