West Sacramento, Calif. (KCRA) — Police said it’s a first for them — there have been high-profile crimes where thousands of dollars’ worth of property was taken in the past, but never has the entire home gone missing — until now.
The house is a “tiny house,” and measures 13-feet tall by 33-feet long by 8-feet wide.
Malinda Crichton has been building the home since August 2013 and has spent about $40,000 so far. She planned to finish it and move in by the end of the year.
The home was parked on a trailer in front of her apartment Monday night, but when she woke up Tuesday and went outside, it was gone.
“I let my little dog out, and I was totally shocked because my house was gone,” Crichton said.
