Hood River County, Ore. – Oregon State Police were notified on September 15th that a dead 6×7 bull elk was found on private property off Rhiordnan Hill Road in Hood County.
Troopers said an investigation revealed the elk’s cause of death was likely a gunshot wound. The elk was killed during bow-hunting season. The carcass was left to waste in a cherry orchard.
The landowner and the Oregon Hunters Association Turn-in-Poacher Program are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
If you have any information, contact OSP Senior Trooper Justin Frazier through the Turn-in-Poachers hotline at 1-800-452-7888.
