Two arrested in connection with car break-ins

0223 car break-in suspectsMedford, Ore. – Two suspects in connection with the recent car break-ins in Medford have been arrested, according to the Medford Police Department.

Police say two quads that were reported stolen Monday morning were spotted on Maple Park Drive. They were able to follow the quad tracks to a specific home. Though officers didn’t find the quads, they did find a pick-up truck that closely matched the one shown in surveillance videos of Monday night’s car break-ins.

According to police, they contacted the residents of the home, but were unable to determine if they were involved in the break-ins. Officers returned around 7:00 Monday night with a search warrant and found stolen property linking the residents to the Sunday morning car break-ins. Police also found some stolen property from the break-ins in Central Point, and eventually located the stolen quads in the 1000 block of West 2nd Street, close to Maple Park Drive.

After the investigation, officers arrested 39-year-old Joseph Apolinar Garcia on charges of theft 3, theft 2, and two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm. 18-year-old Javier Manuel Morales was arrested on theft 2, and 16 counts of unlawful entry in to a motor vehicle.
